Child Protection Month 2016 – Going Green

May is Child Protection Month and as Child Protection Training is the flagship programme of Ezrah, we are looking forward to sharing resources on how organisations can celebrate this month through child protection initiatives. Child Protection Week is from 30 May to 5 June and organisations are invited to visit the Connect Network website at www.connectnetwork.org.za or www.viva.org to get some creative ideas and resources on taking part in the Child Protection Campaign for 2016.

Some of these ideas include wearing green ribbons, knitting green beanies for children, signing the Child Protection petition at www.change.org/p/i-m-keeping-children-safe, attending the service of Hope and Blessing on 29 May at the Gardens Presbyterian Church in Cape Town and signing up for the next QIS module on 6 and 7 June at Life Church Somerset West, where Ezrah will be the lead training organization. For more information on this module, contact Linda Walters at community@connectnetwork.org.za or phone 021 852 9900.

Ezrah will also be releasing a new devotional “The greatest in the kingdom” which focuses on God’s heart for orphans, widows and strangers. Organisations or persons who are interested in obtaining an electronic copy of this devotional which can also be used as a small group curriculum are invited to contact Mariette at info@ezrah.co.za.

So, please go green by visiting the above mentioned websites and by raising awareness for child protection through participation in one or more of these initiatives. In this way, we all make a difference to contribute to children’s right to be protected in line with our South African constitution.
